Situated at the heart of the chic 7th arrondisement, the Square Santiago du Chili is a little public garden that many see as one of the nicest green corners in the city.
Here you can enjoy a discreet view over the golden roof of the nearby Hôtel des Invalides, while resting your feet in the shade of old Oriental platans and enjoying soothing natural scenes.
Statue of Antoine de Saint- Exupéry, the great French dreamer and son of the skies, will keep your company.
The square, along with the Square d'Ajaccio that flank on the other side of Invalides, was laid in 1865 by Jean-Charles Alphand, the railway engineer under Napoleon III.
Needless to say, that the Consulate and the Embassy of Chile are located just a few steps from the square.
Metro La Tour-Mauborg (line 8) will bring you right at the garden gate.
