Crossing the bridge Saint-Louis not only you get to an opposite island, but also bring yourself to a different world. The world-famous Cité, with its legendary monuments and international crowd gives place to the quaint Saint-Louis, whose unhurried atmosphere is mainly animated by the long queues at the famous glacier Berthillon (claimed the tastiest in Paris, their delightful home-made ice-creams and sorbets have been on the menu of locals since 1954).
Bridge Saint-Louis is popular among street performers, who take advantage of all those sweet teeth passing by. As there are many little ones among them, artistic repertoire is often a subject to children’s taste, such as the song performed on the background.
Check out the ice-cream choice at www.berthillon.fr or visit them at 31, rue St Louis-en-l'Ile.
Metro: Pont Marie or Sully Morland (both on line 7)
